Adiabatic Atmosphere


A model atmosphere in which the pressure decreases with height according to: <math>p = p0[1 - (-gz/cp,dT0)] Cp,dRd</math> where <math>p0</math>

and <math>T0</math> are the pressure and temperature (° K) at sea level or other datum; z is the geometric height; <math>Rd</math> is the gas constant for dry gas; <math>cp,d</math> is the specific heat for dry gas at constant pressure; and g is the acceleration of gravity.
