Isometric Transition

A radioactive transition from one nuclear isomer to another of lower energy. </dd>
The deexcitation of the nuclei in the metastable state may occur by gamma emission or by internal conversion followed by emission of X-rays and Auger electrons, or both. It is a type of forbidden transition. </dd>
