Perfect Gas

A gas which has the following characteristics: (a) it obeys the Boyle-Mariotte law and the Charles-Gay-Lussac law; thus satisfying the equation of state for perfect gases; (b) it has internal energy as a function of temperature alone; and (c) it has specific heats with values independent of temperature. Also called ideal gas. Compare perfect fluid. </dd>
