Standardization

1. The act or process of reducing something to, or comparing it with, a standard. </dd>
2. A measure of uniformity. </dd>
3. A special case of calibration whereby a known input is applied to a device or system for the purpose of verifying the output or adjusting the output to a desired level or scale factor. </dd>
